‘Brain password’ uses Leo DiCaprio to unlock your phone

An article on Futurity reports on research by Wenyao Xu, assistant professor of computer science and engineering, to develop a “brain password,” which measures an individual’s brainwaves in response to a series of pictures and can be used to unlock smartphones and other devices.

“To the best of our knowledge, this is the first in-depth research study on a truly cancelable brain biometric system. We refer to this as ‘hard cancellation,’ meaning the original brain password can be reset without divulging the user’s identity,” he said.
