Minor in Cybersecurity

In the wake of seemingly daily breaches and attacks faced by both the public and private sectors, there has never been greater global interest in cybersecurity.

From securing healthcare and transportation systems to power grids and financial institutions, the public and private sectors need cybersecurity professionals more than ever. 

The Minor in Cybersecurity is jointly offered by the School of Management and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. It provides students with depth of knowledge in methods and technologies related to cybersecurity fundamentals and applications, and the opportunity to apply these methods and technologies first hand. 

Learning Objectives

 In this program, you will:

  • Learn how to evaluate cybersecurity risks and develop and implement solutions
  • Identify and apply the principles, methods and practices of cybersecurity in multiple domains, including operating systems, networks, and software
  • Effectively recognize and communicate potential ethical issues related to cybersecurity

Adding this minor also gives you the opportunity to acquire knowledge in specific areas of cybersecurity, positioning you to be even more competitive for jobs in engineering and business fields.
