MAE is one of the broader engineering disciplines. Mechanical engineers are involved in research and development, design and manufacturing. Aerospace engineering includes the traditional aeronautics and astronautics applications, as well as aerospace-related component development and vehicle and propulsion system design.

Engineers Week 2025

In honor of February's national Engineers Week, student clubs hosted a series of events ranging from drone racing to making liquid nitrogen ice cream to competing in battle bots. 

Also during Engineers Week, seniors participated in two pledges at the SEAS Pledge to Professionalism Ceremony. Engineering students were inducted into the Order of the Engineer and applied sciences students took the Pledge of the Computing Professional Oath. Both pledges demonstrate that the students are willing to uphold the ethical standards of their fields.
