  • Costa Rica: Sustainability in Latin America

    Open to most SEAS students. This winter session course exposes students to sustainability issues that are either underappreciated or irrelevant in the U.S. Students will examine eco-tourism, monoculture (coffee, bananas and pineapples), renewable energy (hydroelectric, wind and geothermal), and societal issues (healthcare and immigration). Students are tasked with considering the full life-cycle impacts of each component of the trip.
  • Germany: Engineering International Summer University at TU Darmstadt

    The International Summer University – German Engineering and Language is a unique six-week (two virtual + four on-site weeks) program designed to provide insights into cutting-edge German engineering technology, to improve international language skills as well as to discover and learn more about the German culture. It combines engineering courses, company visits, intensive German language courses, cross-cultural competencies training for engineers and social and cultural activities.
  • Germany: Engineering at TU Dortmund

    The International Summer Program (ISP) at TU Dortmund University is designed to offer excellent students innovative, hands-on study opportunities in a wonderful study abroad environment. TU Dortmund University is part of the Ruhr Academic Triangle, in the heart of one of Europe's most important metropolitan areas. 
  • France: ENSEA-FAME in Cergy-Pontoise

    Ecole Nationale Superieure de l’Electronique et de se Applications (ENSEA) is a "Grande Ecole" and one of the top engineering schools in France, especially for electrical engineering. It is located close to the Palace of Versailles and approximately 35 minutes from central Paris. Courses are taught in English by ENSEA professors. University at Buffalo electrical engineering juniors will study alongside other students from select U.S. partners.
  • Korea: Korea University

    Korea University’s International Summer Campus (ISC) program, offers a variety of courses taught by distinguished faculty from prestigious universities around the world. All courses are taught in English.
  • Sweden: Chalmers University of Technology

    University at Buffalo senior engineering students take graduate level courses while at Chalmers, which are taught in English. Eligible engineering majors include: Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
  • Italy: STEM Communications
    5/29/25
    Students will travel to Florence, Italy and take EAS 360: STEM Communications (a required course for Engineering students) at Lorenzo de' Medici, which serves as UB's hosting partner for this study abroad program.
