SEAS Recommendation on Maternity Accommodation for Faculty

SEAS commits to providing a family-friendly atmosphere for its faculty.  This maternity accommodation recommendation aims at furthering this objective. For tenure-track faculty, this accommodation should accompany the Stop the Clock documentation.

Tenured/tenure-track (TT) faculty and qualified rank faculty in SEAS will be relieved of all teaching for one semester (without penalty in the prior or future semesters).  These accommodations should be implemented within one year of the expected due date to accommodate births mid-semester, for recovery and peak feeding needs after the birth, if needed.

In addition, all faculty and staff may request access to a lactation room as needed.

The SEAS maternity policy complements the State benefit information about leaves due to pregnancy, childbirth and childcare.
