Faculty Launch Mentoring Program

The Faculty Launch Mentoring Program supports pre-tenure faculty members from marginalized and underrepresented populations as they begin their journey as research faculty at the University at Buffalo.

Program Benefits

Participants of the Faculty Launch Mentoring Program commit to an 18-month process of professional development, peer mentoring and participation in regular work sessions. In return, they will receive:

  • A community of support for their work, including from both peer and senior members.
  • A $1,500 stipend for participation.
  • Access to additional personalized support for research.
  • The option to apply for course releases to offset mentoring and service work.

Expectations

Faculty participants are required to participate in the following to be eligible for program benefits:

  • Attend weekly writing and research sessions.
  • Participate in two half-day planning retreats (January 2024 and January 2025) and one three-day writing retreat (August 2024).
