Deepfake videos hawk unproven diabetes cures

Siwei Lyu was quoted in a fact-checking article from AFP Fact Check, which discussed whether video clips of news anchors from Fox News and CNN have been manipulated to promote unproven diabetes treatments.

Lyu reported these videos did not pass the “AI-generated audio detection algorithm, and they lack the common paralinguistic features such as breathing and proper pauses.” He noted several other abnormalities, such as the video and audio not syncing.
