A story on WIVB-TV about the police robot bomb that was used to kill the sniper in last week’s ambush of police officers in Dallas interviews Karthik Dantu, assistant professor of computer science and engineering in the UB School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, who said the technology has been used before, although not in civilian situations.

“It works just like a remote control car, at least the one that was deployed in Dallas. Basically someone was remote-controlling it, and they can drive it,” he said. “My suspicion is they have a good view of a camera that is relaying video.” An article also appeared on Pop Herald.
