Daniella Kata is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering at the University at Buffalo. She is expected to complete her degree in 2024.
Hailing from Long Island, Daniella chose UB for its ABET accreditation, the wide array of classes, and the opportunity to get involved with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) student club. Following her interest in math and logic, civil engineering seemed like the perfect fit and now, as a senior, Daniella is currently a co-project manager for the ASCE Steel Bridge Team.
Along with her motivation to constantly learn from professionals, Daniella is also passionate about teaching younger students and helping them prepare for the future. She has even expanded this passion overseas and taught a structures station during a STEM camp in South Africa focused on students aged 9-13.
In the future Daniella plans to pursue a Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering and work as a structural engineer with private engineering firms. She hopes that her work also gives her the opportunity to see the world and experience living and working in Germany.
