Supporting research and education

Support is vital to the success of our students and researchers. The department has identified four candidate funds to maximize the impact of your gift.

CSEE Fund

The CSEE general Fund supports a variety of activities that help faculty members and students produce high-impact research, enhance the built and natural environments, and make communities safer and more resilient.

Undergraduate Scholarships

An engineering faculty member points to a board while several students look on sitting in front of their own computers.

Undergraduate scholarships reduce the financial burden of tuition and educational expenses, allowing the department to attract high-achieving  students regardless of their finances.

Graduate Student Support

Your gift enables the department to recruit and retain extraordinary graduate students, all of whom contribute in multiple ways to the success of our research and educational programs.

CSEE Student Clubs

Your gift supports our many student clubs, including supplies and materials for project competitions, travel to conferences, and other activities that enhance their collective educational experiences.

Your impact

Here are a few examples of how CSEE alumni and friends have helped support our students and faculty:

  • A fellowship, created by an alum, allows us to increase our graduate student support.
  • Donations support our student clubs, like UB ASCE's steel bridge and concrete canoe teams, to travel and compete on a national level.
  • A Named Chair in Engineering Sustainability advances our research capabilities.
