Christian A. Werner is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in environmental and water resources engineering at the University at Buffalo. He is expected to complete his degree in 2025.
Growing up in Vermont, Christian spent a lot of time exploring nature through activities like hiking, snowboarding and mountain biking. He hopes this field of study will allow him to aid in the process of maintaining the natural environment so future generations can continue to enjoy it as he has.
Currently, he is working on projects examining water disinfection with chlorine. His research attempts to improve drinking water treatment practices and regulations, thus reducing risks to human health.
“Strive to produce high quality work that you are proud of, but don’t forget to take time for yourself as well. Finding a balance between the two is difficult but important to becoming both successful and fulfilled!”
Christian participated in a consulting internship at Ravi Engineering and Land Surveying during the summer of 2022. This experience taught him how to take technical information and present it to the public in a meaningful way. He plans to continue with his research and Master’s program here at UB then find a career where he can help make a positive impact in his community.
