Michel Bruneau wrote a column for the Florida Specifier about a widespread phenomenon, “denial of disaster,” which is the human tendency to downplay the danger or immediacy of an impending disaster. Bruneau notes that he describes the phenomenon in detail in his latest book “The Blessings of Disaster.”
