The Independent (UK) reports on a $6.6 billion startup for flying cars, and whether it’s the future of green transportation or just some rich guy’s fantasy. The article quotes Panagiotis Ch. Anastasopoulos, Stephen E. Still Chair of Transportation Engineering and associate professor in the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering.
“We’re not talking about taking a flying car or an eVTOL [electric vertical takeoff and landing] to take you from home to go to the cinema,” said Anastasopoulos, who has researched flying cars. “It would be far more reasonable to take it if you live, let’s say, in the suburbs to go 100 miles away to the airport.”
