An article in Chicago Reader about the impact that climate change is expected to have on major U.S. coastal cities quotes Joseph Atkinson, professor of civil, structural and environmental engineering and director of the Great Lakes Program at UB.

Atkinson discussed the importance of the Great Lakes Compact. “If this compact can stand up to legal challenges, there is a very good chance the Great Lakes water resource can be developed sustainably,” he said.
