Students pursuing the CIE degree select from one of five program concentrations (summarized below) that provide different course requirements and electives. The CIE MS program and its concentrations, allow students to develop an individualized program of study by selecting from an extensive list of elective courses in conjunction with input from their academic advisor.
The Department offers two doctor of philosophy (PhD) Programs: one in Civil Engineering and one in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering. Each program requires students to develop a dissertation that communicates the results of original research at a high level of scholarship.

Engineering Sciences MS with a course focus in Engineering Sustainability is a 1 or 1 and 1/2 year (30 credit hour) multidisciplinary program training students in the core areas of Sustainability Fundamentals, Renewable Energy, Economics, Environmental Quality and Engineering Practice, Ethics and Manufacturing.
