Education: BS in Psychology with a minor in Sociology, SUNY Brockport; EdM in College Counseling and Student Personnel, University at Buffalo; PhD in Higher Education Administration, University at Buffalo

Academic Path: I entered college with plans to become a high school counselor. Experience as an RA and in an internship in the college’s career services office led me to discover career counseling as a passion instead. I pursued my master’s degree at UB and then moved to the Boston, MA area to work as career counselor in a college counseling and career development center. Approximately 3-4 years later I discovered a new interest in academic advisement when the career development office I was working in was asked to help students on academic probation. I joined the UB advising community in 1997 and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences in 1999. A few years after finishing my doctorate, I was promoted to my current position. It is truly an honor to work in higher ed, helping others discover their best path forward.

Hobbies and Interests: I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also like to travel to my son’s track and field meets. In the summer, I like to camp and catch up on overdue video editing.
