On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse passed over Western New York and the University at Buffalo. UB community members gathered to watch the once-in-a-lifetime celestial event and members of UB’s Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) launched a weather balloon around 3 p.m., about 20 minutes before totality, to capture footage of the eclipse with a 360-degree Go-Pro camera.
