Jun Zhuang, a professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering and Director of the Decision, Risk and Data Laboratory, was honored by SRA with its 2019 Chauncey Starr Distinguished Young Analyst Award.
Huamin Li is the tenth faculty member in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences to receive a CAREER Award in 2019. Li, an assistant professor of electrical engineering, will investigate a novel transistor concept offering faster switching speeds and less energy consumption.
Wenyao Xu, associate professor of computer science and engineering, received the best paper award at the Association for Computing Machinery’s Conference on Embedded Networked Sensor Systems.
Steve Ko, associate professor of computer science and engineering and co-director of undergraduate studies, received a best paper award at MobiCom 2019.
Students in associate professor Andreas Stavridis’ reinforced concrete design class had a chance to experience something most undergraduate students do not: seeing the beams they designed and built put to the test.
“I wanted to bring the club back because I wanted students to have more exposure to industry, beyond design engineering,” says civil engineering senior Mustafa Shakoor.
