The center’s previous RERC work included developments to improve access to public transportation for people with disabilities, as well as a first-of-its-kind program called innovative solutions for universal design.
Edward Snell has been named the next chair of the Department of Materials Design and Innovation. He will succeed Krishna Rajan, who has served as the department’s inaugural chair since 2015.
The work, part of larger $2 million effort, will employ AI and other tools to develop eco-friendly membranes for use in medicine, agriculture, industry and other fields.
