Sixty high school students worked on an engineering design project and learned more about STEM careers during the annual UB/National Grid Leadership Camp.
UB’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences gave its highest honor, the Dean’s Award for Achievement, to Ann Wegrzyn (BS IE 1985; MBA 1990) for her substantial contribution to the practice of engineering and the applied sciences and for her exceptional professional career.
UB CSEE alumni Michael Lesakowski (MS ’08) and Peter Merlo (BS ’93, MS ‘98); UB staff member Steven Roder; and their team of 40 hockey players helped raise $1.2 million for cancer research at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI).
Colin Myers, a rising senior at UB from Lancaster, New York, won the Student in Technology Award from Info Tech WNY at its Buffalo Emerging Technology Awards Showcase event, known as the BETAS.
Unlike how most middle school and high school students would spend their free summer days, 39 outstanding students from 23 different schools learned about the exciting world of cybersecurity during a week-long camp at the University at Buffalo.
