Students in engineering professor Stephen Still’s class see the future of motor vehicles.

The project examines emergency management disparities between the wealthy and low-income groups.

Students and faculty had the opportunity to present posters, showcasing  research to over 400 TRB attendees who came for the reception. 

Last month, the University at Buffalo School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) hosted its annual Engineers Week. 

Kevin Burke, an associate professor of teaching in the Department of Electrical Engineering, has been named associate dean for student affairs in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. The appointment is effective April 1. 

School of Engineering and Applied Sciences alum Tim van Oss was named the 2023 Young Engineer of the Year by the Erie Niagara Chapter of the New York State Society of Professional Engineers. 

Haiqing Lin and his team of researchers were recently awarded $1.5 million for a two-year-long project that is scheduled to begin on April 1.

The award, from the state’s Offshore Wind Training Institute, will help boost awareness in renewable energy supply chain careers.

Jinjun Xiong, SUNY Empire Innovation Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, has been elevated to fellow in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
