Surveys in the Great Lakes and Mississippi River watersheds show steady numbers, but other species are disappearing.

As a summer research project, Adrian Denner, an undergraduate in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, set out to scavenge useful energy from the vibrations of a thermoacoustic resonator.

Philip Odonkor, a PhD student in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, has always been intrigued by the idea of distilling complex thoughts into short, captivating narratives. He’s also proven that he’s highly proficient at this essential skill.

Maliheh Karamigolbaghi received the Professor Emeritus Howard Strauss Memorial Scholarship, the largest scholarship distributed by UBEAA. The scholarship rewards academically outstanding students who demonstrate leadership skills through involvement on campus and community activities as well as scholastic accomplishments.

The assessments are facilitated by a local licensed provider, UB's Center for Industrial Effectiveness.

This fall, the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences welcomed its largest incoming class of graduate students to date. The unprecedented class of 902 graduate students represented a 31% increase over fall of 2017.  

Widely available and inexpensive, the metal could lead to a renewable energy boom.

Activities include rides in a self-driving bus, robot demonstrations, robot programing and learning about careers in robotics.

Over the past two years, five faculty members from UB’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences have received awards from the Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers (IEEE) Region 1 chapter.
