Krishna Rajan, Monica Miles and CSEE student Ava Fetzner have received the University at Buffalo’s Sustainability Leadership, Innovation and Collaborative Engagement (SLICE) Awards.

Bibhudatta Sahoo, professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, will serve as a distinguished lecturer in the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society’s (CASS) Distinguished Lecturer Program (DLP) for two years. 

Monica Miles, assistant professor, has been recognized for her commitment to education, environmental justice and community empowerment.

Nicholas Mastronarde will assume the role of chair on August 14, 2025, succeeding Jonathan Bird, who has served as chair of the department since 2017.

SEAS seniors Ava Fetzner and Ella Markham have been chosen as recipients of the 2025 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence.
