As the intersections between the healthcare system and technology continue to grow, one of the greatest challenges is data sharing of confidential information across a number of organizations.

Francine Battaglia, a professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, has been named Acting Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, effective July 27, 2019.


He is a co-holder of five U.S. patents and four pending applications, and a co-author of more than 240 research publications.


Michael Constantinou, SUNY Distinguished Professor and faculty member in the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering, received an honorary Doctorate in Civil Engineering from the University of Patras, earlier this month.


A report co-authored by SUNY Distinguished Professor Michel Bruneau detailing the post-earthquake reconstruction of modern cities was translated to Chinese earlier this month.


About 100 students gathered on campus this spring to take part in the 2019 Blockchain Buildathon—an annual event that brings together local businesses and School of Engineering and Applied Sciences students to develop a solution to a problem, or use case, utilizing blockchain technology.
