UB remains among the top public universities in the nation, according to the latest rankings released today by U.S. News & World Report.
UB came in at No. 38 this year, making it four years in a row that UB has ranked among the top 40 public universities in the country. It’s eight consecutive years that UB has ranked among the top 50 public universities.
UB also placed No. 93 on this year’s U.S. News list of best national universities, both public and private.
“We are proud that UB continues to be recognized among the top universities in the nation and to positively impact the world through our research, scholarship, creative activities, education, clinical care and engagement activities,” says Provost A. Scott Weber.
The annual rankings are based on an assessment of nearly 1,900 four-year institutions using a variety of weighted educational metrics.
UB is listed several times in the online news magazine’s 2022 Best Colleges issue. In other categories, UB ranked:
“Our school is once again recognized as one of the best in the nation, thanks to our commitment to academic excellence and our inclusive and diverse learning environment for undergraduate students,” says Kemper Lewis, dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. “We continually deliver a world-class education that is rich with experiential learning activities, fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and prepares students to develop innovative solutions to important societal needs.”
“It is vital to the health of our communities that nurses are well prepared to provide culturally conscious care to our diverse populations,” says Marsha L. Lewis, dean of the School of Nursing. “We’re proud to continue to offer our students high-quality educational programming and hands-on experiences that help build critical thinking, leadership, empathy and compassion.”
UB also remains high on the list of national universities with the most international students. International students comprise 14% of the enrollment at UB.
UB is one of a number of public universities from the prestigious Association of American Universities (AAU) that are highly ranked. Others include University of California, Berkeley; University of Michigan; The Ohio State University; Indiana University, Bloomington; Michigan State; Penn State; University of Wisconsin-Madison; University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; Purdue; and Rutgers.
