5G cellular service, the next generation of smartphone technology, could also become an alternative to cable television bundles, according to Filippo Malandra, research assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering.
"You can buy the little hotspot, or you can use your phone to tether access to other devices as you can do now with 4G," Malandra said, as part of a story on WKBW Channel 7.
