The Department of Materials Design and Innovation (MDI) is a forward-leaning, interdisciplinary initiative that will address regional and national demand for new materials that accelerate research and education in advanced manufacturing and biotechnology.

2026 Engineers Week

In honor of February's national Engineers Week, student clubs hosted a series of events ranging from drone racing and liquid nitrogen experiments to competing in battle bots. 

Also during Engineers Week, seniors participated in two pledges at the SEAS Pledge to Professionalism Ceremony. Engineering students were inducted into the Order of the Engineer and applied sciences students took the Pledge of the Computing Professional Oath. Both pledges demonstrate that the students are willing to uphold the ethical standards of their fields.
