Vice President of Lean Operations, GE Aerospace (Retired)

Betsy Bingham.

Betsy Bingham, MBA, is a retired corporate officer of GE Aerospace, where she was Vice President of Lean Operations from 2019–2025.

As Vice President of Lean Operations, Bingham was responsible for driving the lean transformation across the GE Aerospace enterprise and was the architect of FLIGHT DECK, GE’s proprietary lean operating system. She also was responsible for Quality, Environmental Health and Safety, Sustainability (Scopes 1 and 2) and Facilities.

Prior to joining GE, Bingham led the Integrated Supply Chain team for Honeywell's Performance Materials and Technology business, where she was responsible for manufacturing, engineering, quality, procurement and materials planning to support a $15 billion P&L. Her team consisted of 84 manufacturing sites and over 20,000 employees. Before Honeywell, Bingham was with Royal Philips where she was COO of the Diagnostic Imaging business unit and also led the global service organization. She also led global operations for Veeder-Root and Tektronix, two operating companies of Danaher. 

Her early career included five years with General Motors' Powertrain Tonawanda Engine Plant, where she was business team leader and launch manager for two different engine lines. Prior to GM, she led the manufacturing team of the Western New York Technology Center (TDC) and was with British Petroleum for 10 years, where she started as a co-op student and held positions of increasing responsibility, concluding with Vice President of Operations.

Bingham is also an independent director on the board of FuelCell Energy and a board member of Precinmac Corporation. She has a BS in Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University and an MBA from the University at Buffalo.

Bingham lives in Oregon. She and her husband, Roger, are the parents of five adult children and two grandchildren.

Bingham joined the Dean's Advisory Council in 2025.
