Vice President – Engineering, Moog, Inc., Space and Defense Group (Retired)
Ron Benczkowski received his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Buffalo in 1982, with subsequent graduate studies concentrated in the field of control systems.
Benczkowski joined Moog’s Missile Systems Division in 1982 as a Product Engineer responsible for servo control solutions for numerous defense and space applications. He subsequently progressed through a variety of engineering leadership roles as the business grew to become the Space and Defense Group, one of Moog’s three worldwide business segments. Ron’s engineering career is highlighted with content that developed Moog’s first complete hydraulic control system for a strategic missile, Moog’s first endeavors into both electro-pneumatic and electro-mechanical steering control systems for tactical missiles, and Moog’s first all-electric motion simulator—an innovation that led the industry’s transformation from hydraulic to electric motion control technology.
Benczkowski’s responsibilities evolved to include Engineering Management in 1996, and in 2004 transitioned to Business Unit Engineering Manager for Moog’s Defense Control Systems. Benczkowski became Director of Engineering for the Space and Defense Group in 2008, and in 2012 moved into his role as Group Vice President of Engineering, where he is focused the Company’s efforts to generate significant new business value and growth through innovation.
Benczkowski joined the Dean's Advisory Council in 2017.
