Paul Ameis

Paul Ameis has been working in the chemical industry for over 30 years. He joined VanDeMark Chemical in 2001 as the operations manager of the Lockport facility and was promoted to Executive Vice President in 2003 and Chief Operating Officer in 2005. He led the global operational activity at VanDeMark for 22 years, before moving to the most recent role of Vice President at WTS, Inc. in Lewiston, NY.

In his current role, Ameis is responsible for the leadership of WTS’s push into environmental, social and governance (ESG) programs to aid chemical companies’ sustainability programs across the United States. Throughout Ameis' career he played an instrumental role in the development of many of the proprietary processes and products, as wellas continuous improvement initiatives throughout manufacturing operations.

Paul is a 1994 graduate of UB’s chemical engineering department and continues to adjunct within the department for the senior design class.Ameis is the current chair of the UB CBE Advisory Board.

He joined the Dean's Advisory Council in 2019.
