Biography

Leslie Ying received her BEng in Electronics Engineering from Tsinghua University, China in 1997 and both her MS and PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign in 1999 and 2003, respectively. She is now an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering at SUNY-Buffalo. Before joining SUNY-Buffalo, she was on faculty at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. Her research interests include magnetic resonance imaging, compressed sensing, and image reconstruction. She received a CAREER award from the National Science Foundation in 2009. She was elected as an AdCom member of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society in 2012. She is a Deputy Editor of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and a senior member of IEEE.
