With the expansion of the manufacturing enterprise and advancements in technology, there is increased demand for workers skilled in the methods, processes and technologies related to the analysis and design of manufacturing systems. Our minor in manufacturing will prepare you to communicate effectively, enable you to apply appropriate theories and methods, and empower you to solve manufacturing problems and improve system designs.

Learning Objectives

  1. Understand and describe current methods, processes, and /or technologies in manufacturing.
  2. Identify, formulate and solve problems in the area of manufacturing.
  3. Apply appropriate theories and methods to analyze and design of manufacturing technologies and systems within realistic constraints (e.g., economic, manufacturability, sustainability, environmental)
  4. Communicate effectively about manufacturing engineering problem solutions, technologies, and system designs.
