Launched in 2022 and organized by Dr. Alina Vereshchaka, the CSE Workshop Series is a student-centered, faculty-led initiative designed to extend learning beyond the classroom and build practical, industry-relevant skills across computing, from theoretical foundations to modern software development and AI. The series provides students with opportunities for experiential learning, peer-to-peer knowledge transfer, and professional growth in a collaborative academic setting.
Each semester, students take on active roles as speakers, event managers, and coordinators, gaining experience in technical communication and mentorship. Sessions are structured around active learning: attendees write and run code, complete hands-on exercises, and engage in discussions spanning algorithms, systems, software engineering, databases, security and AI.
