Professor Gang Wu has received The 2021 SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities in honor of his excellence in scholarly and creative pursuits beyond his teaching responsibilities. As an electrochemist, Dr. Wu's research focuses on the development of sustainable and clean-energy technology and has been supported by over $5 million dollars in grant funding. His research has been recognized by high-profile journals, media outlets, and other colleagues in the field. Named a Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researcher in 2018, 2019, and 2020, his research has been published in over 250 journal articles and has been cited more than 28,000 times.
"Prof. Wu has made truly extraordinary research contributions and is widely regarded as one of the world's leading experts in electrocatalysis, a field that is essential to a sustainable energy economy. We are honored to have him in our department." said CBE chair Mark Swihart.
Dr. Wu also serves as an associate editor for the journal RSC advance and is an editorial board member for two journals, Scientific Reports, and ChemistrySelect. He has also served as a reviewer for over 1,000 articles in renowned journals.
