Ringuette named AIAA Associate Fellow

AIAA associate fellows are chosen based on their accomplishments or leadership in important engineering and scientific work. Nominees must be an AIAA senior member in good standing with at least 12 years of professional experience.

"Matt’s recognition is well deserved, demonstrating the respect of his peers for his influence and contributions in research, teaching and service. Most recently, Matt served six years as the director of undergraduate studies for the aerospace engineering program. His dedication to education and UB, and his commitment to the profession are of the highest level,” said Francine Battaglia, professor and chair of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.

A faculty member at UB since 2008, Ringuette’s research interests include experimental fluid mechanics, vortex dynamics, unsteady aerodynamics, bio-inspired propulsion with applications to autonomous air and underwater vehicles, fluid-structure interactions, and high-speed flow. He received a Young Investigator award from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research in 2010 and was recognized in 2019 with the SEAS Senior Teacher of the Year award.

They exemplify expertise, passion, and dedication to advancing their specific disciplines, and they are truly shaping the future of aerospace."

The newest class of associate fellows will be recognized at the 2023 AIAA SciTech Forum, to be held January 23-27 in National Harbor, Md.
