The Quality Engineering micro-credential serves the critical needs of students who are determined to pursue a career on improving quality of products and service in various industries, military and government agencies.
All of these organizations, regardless of their business or operations, inevitably need quality improvement. This program includes a set of quality-centered courses, both quantitative and qualitative in nature, as well as a final “mini thesis."
This micro-credential is open to Industrial Engineering graduate students at UB. Students should be admissible to the Industrial Engineering MS or ME programs with strong engineering background from a reputable undergraduate program. International students are expected to have English language test scores above the university standards, and above average GRE scores.

To receive a Quality Engineering badge, students must complete three courses (9 credits) with a cumulative GPA of a 3.5 or greater, as well as an integrative report or "mini thesis" to unify all course experience. Two core courses are mandatory:
Once courses are completed, students should submit the application for the badge and they will be then be placed with a mini thesis advisor to complete the micro-credential.
Upon completion of the program, students will be awarded a digital badge issued through Credly. Credly is a platform for creating, issuing and managing digital badges. If you have questions about using Credly please contact the Office of Micro-Credentials.
