AIAA is a national organization whose goal is to serve the technical needs and to promote the professional development of engineers in the aerospace field.

ASME is a nationwide and international organization with approximately 100,000 members. The student chapter coordinates, plans and runs a variety of student activities, including the invitation of guest speakers, organization of field trips, department open house for the Buffalo community, student paper contests, an annual picnic and banquet, and participation in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Student Conference.

The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Graduate Student Association (MAE-GSA) is the representative body for MAE graduate students at the University at Buffalo.

The services MAESC provides include help with academic course curriculum, career development, and fun social events. MAESC is comprised of a general body community and a Student Executive Committee (SEC) including three smaller teams: Academic Support, Professional Development, and Social Media and Outreach.

The SAE student chapter is organized primarily to train students in hands-on engineering and design skills.
