UB Data Science & Machine Learning Club is poised to establish an ecosystem where students from every department can leverage data science and machine learning for addressing real-world problems in a manner that's affordable, interdisciplinary, and equitable. We recognize that while artificial intelligence (AI) is the broad field dedicated to creating machines capable of performing tasks that require human-like intelligence. On the other hand, machine learning (ML) is a subset of AI focused on enabling systems to learn from data and improve over time without explicit programming. Similarly, data science is a comprehensive field that encompasses both data analytics and ML—where data analytics emphasizes analyzing historical data to inform decisions, and ML uses algorithms to predict future trends and make informed predictions.
