Buffalo Business First reported that UB recently received $3.4 million from the NSF to continue CyberCorps: Scholarship for Service, a training program for cybersecurity experts.

The funding, from the National Science Foundation, will help train 24 cybersecurity experts who work for the FBI, CIA and other agencies

The National Science Foundation (NSF) reported that the CyberCorps Scholarship for Service program is renewing funding for seven academic institutions, including UB, to support the development of a robust and resilient cybersecurity workforce. 

A Newsweek article about classified Pentagon documents recently leaked on social media quotes Shambhu Upadhyaya, professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, who said that searching the video game chat platform Discord may be instrumental in the investigation.

Researchers will try to make containers that are both efficient and secure with a two-year grant from the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity, located within the National Security Agency.

A National Science Foundation-funded project led by faculty members in the University at Buffalo’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences will provide critical training on Cyber-Infrastructure technologies for the next generation of research in the advanced manufacturing workforce.
