Dr. Pinar Okumus joined the department in 2013 after receiving her PhD in Civil Engineering in 2012 from the University of Wisconsin. Her research focuses on highway bridge engineering, specifically regarding precast prestressed concrete bridges. She is interested in the nonlinear behavior of prestressed concrete bridge members. She uses computational and experimental methods to investigate high performance bridge components and connections.
