An article on Futurity reports on a new UB study that showed that an embryonic stem cell gene called Nanog shows promise in counteracting premature aging disorders such as Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome, and quotes Stelios Andreadis, professor and chair of chemical and biological engineering in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. “Our research into Nanog is helping us to better understand the process of aging and ultimately how to reverse it,” he said.
