John Mendrykowski MS 1972, BS 1967

John Mendrykowski was one of the original graduating class the chemical engineering program in 1966. After graduation, John worked as a manufacturing supervisor for Monsanto Chemical Company’s Bircham Bend plant in Indiana Falls Mass in 1967. He also worked for Standard Oil Company of Ohio as a corporate engineer in Cleveland and returned to UB to attain his MS. Afterward John worked as an Engineer Manager at the Moore Research Division for 30 years in which some of his duties where: imported and exported technology worldwide for carbonless paper and print technologies, managed a project to build and start up a chemical plant, managed a chemical and coating plant, and worked on the development and implementation of business management techniques to help Moore companies better achieve their financial commitments to the Board of Directors.

When John retired from the industry in 2002, he helped his son-in-law set up a business and currently does the financial work for the firm. With two daughters, John dedicates his retirement in helping their families achieve their lifetime goals.
