Upon completion of his PhD, he worked as research scientist at South Campus Instrument Center, School of Dental Medicine, University at Buffalo. After about a year he joined Intel as a Senior Process Engineer where his primary focus is developing processes for Semiconductor Chip manufacturing.

Biswajit completed his BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calcutta, MS in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, from The State University of New York at Buffalo. He is a life member of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers and Indian Minerals Engineering, and member of the American Chemical Society. Before starting his PhD studies, Biswajit worked at National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML), Jamshedpur, India as a scientist. At NML, Biswajit's primary focus was on development of a new process for low grade minerals. During his work at NML, Biswajit received a research grant from the Department of Science & Technology, two of his research papers were awarded best paper by Indian Institute of Minerals Engineers, and one of his research projects was awarded second best in-house project. In addition to Biswajit's work, he also provides support a non-profit organization dedicated to orphan children. He currently resides with his wife and daughter in the Portland area.

"Spending a good part of my life in Buffalo as PhD student always brings back good memories for me. There were many opportunities to study many fundamental problems, and this resulted in 10 first author and a total of 14 research papers, and a rock solid foundation for my future career. At UB I learned how to do fundamental research, and how that fundamental knowledge could be used to develop and design new processes and materials, and how to handle multiple problems at the same time. I also enjoyed my close relationships with all of faculty CBE members, staffs, and graduate students!"
