Aerospace Manufacturing and Design reported that LIFT, a Department of Defense institute, will begin the second phase of its materials acceleration and thermal management programs for hypersonic vehicles. A team of UB engineers, led by James Chen, aided in the discovery, design and simulation of ceramics and ceramic matrix composites during the first phase.
