UPI quotes John Crassidis, Samuel P. Capen Professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering, in a story on space junk, and how concerns about collisions are growing as low-Earth orbit is becoming more crowded.

"We're at a tipping point right now in low Earth orbit," Crassidis told UPI. He noted that problems range from tiny pieces of debris that are too small to track, a lack of international treaties related to space junk, and the need for new technologies to make clean-ups feasible.
