Travel Funds to Visit Program Managers at Funding Agencies

With the success of the program in 2018-19 and 2019-20, this program has been extended for 2020-21 academic year. However, it is temporarily suspended until further notice due to the unavailability of program directors for face-to-face meetings at the funding agencies.

A faculty member who wishes to travel to a federal funding agency will be provided with a budget of up to $500 to cover the cost of the trip. Priority is given to faculty members who do not have any current grants or funds to facilitate such trips. All are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to start new conversations with program managers in an effort to increase the chances of getting funded. Since most funding agencies such as NSF, NIH, and DoD are in Washington DC area, such visits can be completed as a day trip. The Office of Research Advancement (ORA), with its experienced staff, has agreed to help prepare the faculty for these visits.
