1. Go to the State Payroll Self-Service website (http://www.suny.edu/hrportal)
2. Select Buffalo Univ under Select Campus
3. Log in using UBITName and Password
4. Click on NYS Payroll Online and follow any required prompts
5. Select View W-2
6. Select Year End Form for required year (Please be sure that pop-ups are enabled in your browser.)
   
7. Print the W-2

To save time and money we strongly encourage state employees to opt-out from receiving paper direct deposit stubs using the instructions in this quick guide. If you are not enrolled in direct deposit, you can enroll anytime by completing the direct deposit enrollment request form.

1. Go to the RF Self Service portal  (you’ll see that Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is now required to log-in so please click on the link to the MFA Quick Start Guide if you’ve not already established that)
2. Click on the link to Access Employee Self Service 
3. Log in using your RF username and password
4. Enter the MFA code that you received
5. Click on employee Self Service
6. Select My W-2
7. Select year

1. Log in to the RF Self Service portal
2. Select My Contact Information
3. Navigate through the options and select No for the W-2 print option
4. Click Apply then Submit to complete your transaction

W-2 Wage and Tax reports for UBFA and resident payrolls (UMRS, UDRS, and UPRS) will be mailed by January 31, 2026.

UBF employees can now access their W-2 reports online by registering through ADP.  Through ADP, our W-2 provider, you are able to access your W-2 forms 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Upon registration, you will be able to access your W-2 statement.

How to Register on ADP W-2 Services

1. Go to https://my.adp.com.
2. Click “Get Started”.
3. Click “I Have A Registration Code”
   **PLEASE USE ALL CAPS WHEN ENTERING THE BELOW INFORMATION**
4. Enter the Registration Pass Code: UBFI-UBFONLINE
5. First Name: ALL CAPS
6. Last Name: ALL CAPS
7. Verify W-2 Services is selected as the Service and 2025 is selected as the tax year.
8. The following information is required for validation purposes:
   1. Employee ID: ALL CAPS. This is the first 6 letters/numbers of your UBIT. Your UBIT is the first part of your @buffalo.edu email. If your UBIT is shorter than 6 letters/numbers please just use your whole UBIT.
      
   2. Company Code: W0L (0=Zero)
   3. Employee Zip Code: 5 Digits
      
   4. Full Social Security Number- do not use dashes (-)
      

You will be required to provide additional verification using your mobile number and email. You will be prompted to complete a registration process during which you will select a unique password. Your password must contain between 8 to 20 characters and at least one alpha and one numeric character.

Additionally, you will be assigned a system generated User ID. Once you have completed the registration process, you should “Bookmark” or “Add to your Favorites” the new URL, https://my.adp.com.
