Campaign for the Community
Working together, we can make a difference!
August 2026 - February 2027
The annual UB Campaign for Community (SEFA Campaign) impacts the Western New York area in many ways and demonstrates to the community how deeply SEAS and UB care about the community. Campaign funds are used to improve the lives of countless people in Western New York – it’s a testament to the charitable giving that infuses our university community.
You can choose a specific agency to receive your contribution or you can make a general contribution to be distributed to all of the participating agencies. Please consider giving – even $1.00 a paycheck can help! The campaign money stays within the Buffalo and Erie County community.
We ask that you complete the electronic form regardless of whether you are contributing to the campaign. First-time donors will receive a coupon for a free cup of coffee or tea, courtesy of Campus Dining. Anyone who contributes is also eligible for prizes in the weekly raffle!
To login, UB employees will need to reset their passwords for the e-pledge system. To do so, click the “Forgot User ID or Password” button. On the following page, enter your UB email and instructions will be sent with a link to reset the password.

The Buffalo City Mission provides food, shelter, and life-changing programs for homeless individuals and families in Western New York.
Past Fundraisers and Events
SEAS partnered with Parkside Candy for a Valentine’s Day chocolate fundraiser on January 23 to February 6, 2026 , to help the SEAS SEFA Campaign for the Community. Parkside Candy is a local family-owned and operated candy company. Twenty-five percent of each sale went directly toward the campaign.
SEAS organized a fall flower bulb fundraiser for the SEAS SEFA Campaign for the Community. Fifty percent of all proceeds went to the Buffalo City Mission.
SEAS partnered with Parkside Candy for a Valentine’s Day chocolate fundraiser on January 22 to February 3, 2025, to help the SEAS SEFA Campaign for the Community. Parkside Candy is a local family-owned and operated candy company. Twenty-five percent of each sale went directly toward the campaign.
SEAS organized a recycling fundraiser from October 23 - November 20, 2024. For every bottle or can recycled, five cents was donated to FeedMore WNY to help alleviate food insecurity in our community.

SEAS partnered with Parkside Candy for a Valentine’s Day chocolate fundraiser on January 22 to February 5, 2025, to help the SEAS SEFA Campaign for the Community. Parkside Candy is a local family-owned and operated candy company. Twenty-five percent of each sale went directly toward the campaign.
SEAS partnered with Neighbors Cookies for a Cookie Dough Fundraiser in October 2023 to benefit the SEAS SEFA Campaign for the Community. Forty percent of all sales went to the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences SEFA Campaign for the Community.

Special thanks to all who participated in the SEAS Cutest Pet Contest to benefit the UB Campaign for the Community, held October 4-29, 2021. Many entries from the University and Western New York community were received and all proceeds raised went directly to the SEFA/Campaign for the Community to support our Western New York community.

Congratulations to Dr. Ning Dai, associate professor in the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering, for winning the DiCamillo Bakery gift card! And a special thank you to everyone who participated in the drawing and purchased a cookie tray.
SEAS partnered with DiCamillo Bakery for a cookie fundraiser on December 1-16, 2020 to help the SEAS SEFA Campaign for the Community. DiCamillo Bakery is a local family-owned and operated bakery, and offered a one-pound assorted cookie tray for $18.47 (plus tax). $5.00 from each purchased cookie tray went directly toward the campaign. DiCamillo Bakery offered a chance to win a $25 gift card with the purchase of a cookie tray to benefit the Campaign for the Community.
