2 and 3-Year Reappointment Recommendation Checklist

Review the items below to ensure you have everything you need to recommend your SEAS tenure-track faculty member for 2 or 3-year reappointment.

1. Chair's letter

The chair's letter should minimally include a discussion of:

  • Scholarship and research
  • External funding
  • Classroom teaching and graduate student advisement
  • Service
  • Recommendation

Letters for 3-year reappointment should also include department discussions and voting outcomes.

2. One Internal Faculty/Mentor Letter

3. Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Ensure SEAS Faculty CVs  conform with the school's CV template.

4. Research Statement (3 pages max.)

5. Service Statement (2 pages max.)

6. Teaching Statement (3 pages max.)

7. Student Evaluation Summary (including representative comments)
