Our program provides students with an education spanning numerous focus areas. Learning from distinguished faculty, the knowledge our undergraduates are given is an exceptional value, preparing them for a successful future and career advancement.

Electrical Engineering is everywhere! It is a part of every industry, from power generation and distribution to environmental, manufacturing, semiconductor, optics and telecommunications technologies. Almost everything we use in our daily lives contains a chip that implements a communication protocol or a sophisticated signal processing algorithm.
The undergraduate degree offered by the Department is the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), a four year degree program. The program provides the scope of knowledge and training needed for employment and also forms the basis for further study at the graduate level. Our BSEE program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET).
Students wishing to pursue this program should apply during their third year of study in their undergraduate program—directly to the School of Management. Our curriculum is designed to prepare our graduates to immediately contribute to the workforce of the profession, and to be prepared to pursue advanced study and engage in continuous professional development.
To ensure that electrical engineering students are well prepared for success in their future careers, the department follows a formal procedure in the development of curriculum. With the help of our constituents, we identify program educational objectives and determine student outcomes. We also survey and assess students in the BS program to determine if they have attained skills and knowledge needed for achieving their career goals. We strive for continuous improvements.
Many of our undergraduates look beyond the classroom to enhance their academic experience. They obtain real-world experience through internships and other experiential learning opportunities. Many also participate in engineering clubs, take classes abroad and get involved in undergraduate research.
Many of our undergraduates receive financial aid in the form of scholarships and fellowships.
Field experience working on an electrical engineering project in a real-world setting under the joint direction of a supervisor from industry and a faculty advisor from the Department of Electrical Engineering. Projects selected should integrate the material learned in academic courses.
